Fitness
Do you feel unhappy when looking at yourself in the mirror?
Are you unsure how to use the exercise equipment at a gym?
Are you tired of your own exercise routine and need something fresh and new?
Do you want to increase flexibility?
I have always been active throughout my life; growing up playing sports as well as outdoor activities like hiking and camping. I love to feel my body in motion.
My enjoyment of being active lead me to take two Anatomy/Physiology courses in college.
At the same time, I began exercising at the college’s gym and learning from a personal trainer there.
I also enrolled in a nutrition course which provided me with valuable information for achieving better workouts and reaching my fitness goals faster.
YOGA
Do you want to increase your flexibility?
Do you want to decrease your stress levels and feel more grounded and centered?
Do you want to experience the benefits of meditation?
I was drawn to Yoga for similar reasons myself.
I found a Traditional Hatha Yoga program that provided a thorough experience with the physical poses (Asanas) as well as a thorough experience of the spiritual aspect of the practice, including breathing exercises (Prana Yama) and meditation.
I then began to experience how closely linked the body and mind are and how integral that is for wellness as a whole.
Physically I felt more flexible and with less stress on my joints.
Mentally I felt more centered and balanced which equaled to decreased stress levels.
Boxing
Do you feel like you need a change from your usual exercise routine?
Have you ever wanted to learn how to box?
Do you want to learn how to defend yourself?
Do you want to feel more confident?
I first began boxing as a way to change up my regular exercise routine. It was a fantastic workout!
In the beginning, I did it for the exercise but later got involved with it competitively.
I experienced confidence through fitness and having a fit body, but boxing brought with it a further level of confidence with the knowledge that I knew how to defend myself.
And beyond that, I discovered a wonderful community of friends which has enriched my life in ways I never imagined.
Massage
Do you want to relax after a long work week?
Do you want to decrease your stress levels?
Do you want to alleviate muscle soreness from exercise?
Are you recovering from an injury or are experiencing chronic pain somewhere in your body?
Receiving a massage can help address all of these things.
After discovering the joys and benefits of exercise, I experienced post-workout muscle soreness and became curious about healthy recovery, which is what lead me to massage therapy.
I was amazed by how effective it was in aiding my body’s recovery process.
Massage therapy can help alleviate muscle tension in chronically tense areas of your body by softening and stretching these tight areas, promoting better function and range of motion.
Pilates
Do you want better posture?
Do you want a stronger core?
Have you hit a plateau in your other areas of fitness?
I had been exercising for years before I was introduced to Pilates.
I was surprised by how thorough a total body method of strengthening and stretching it provided.
This brought more awareness of how to move my body and improvement to my other exercise methods; Yoga, weight lifting, and boxing.
My workouts took on a new and better feel of core strength, stability, and flexibility. Bringing higher achievements; faster running, jumping higher, faster punch speed, moving greater weight, and stretching more effectively.
I never knew what I was missing until I started.
